The crown jewel of our Lhasa tour is the memorable cultural, religious, and historical
tour of the ancient city of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Situated in the middle of the Tibetan Plateau and lying in
the encompassed river valley in between the Himalayas, Lhasa sits at an altitude of about 3,660 meters (11,450 ft.)
making it the highest city in the world and thus justifying its age old title of the “roof of the world.” The
semi-arid climate of the region due to its position in the rain shadow of the Himalayas and yet the fertile river
valley of Lhasa forms a contrasting natural beauty in lush green farms between the arid rocky landscape and snow
capped mountains.
Budget trip is open on every Tuesday and Saturday throughout the year. December and January
is considered low season, Saturday the best time for the trip. We drive to Lhasa by bus and from Lhasa we have two
options: come back to Kathmandu on flight, or we you have to proceed to Main Land China after the trip. So, you have
the option of taking train or flights onwards to main Land china after the 7/8 days Lhasa overland trip.

01
Arrive in Kathmandu (1290 m)
We will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathamandu. Our
representative will meet you and greet you. We will accompany you to the hotel for check-in and We will collect
your original passport and we will help you to fill up form for Chinese Embassy./ overnight on Hotel.

Tibet permit preparation day/ Half day tour
Free day or Half day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley. We will assist you in the way you like.
In the evening we will hand over the original passport and group visa/ permit of Tibet. We will shortly brief you about the trip.
Final check list of equipment. / Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu to Nyalam/ Driving Distance : 156 km
Early morning, we will gather at Thamel, Kathmandu; drive to Kodari boarder by private bus,
cross the friendship bridge i.e. enter into Tibet and use the private vehicle of Tibet. We have to come across three immigration office before reaching Nyalam.
At the time when we operate Kailash Tour there can be more rush and it can be little time consuming. So,
good to carry dry food like Chocolate bar, nuts, water and juice. Suggestion:
Hydrate and no smoking and alcoholic drinks throughout the trip. Overnight in a Dormitory at Nyalam.

Nyalam to Lhatse/ Driving Distance :290 km.
Today we cross two high pass Thang-la (5050m) and Lalung-la (4990m), the view of snow capped peaks from
Old Tingri is scenic stunning view including the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. Overnight in a Dormitory
at Lhatse(4250m)

Lhatse to Shigatse / Driving Distance: 210 km
Today we cross two pass Yulong- La (4520m) and Tra- La (4050m). We stop at Shigate. On time permission
we visit second largest monastery of Tibet, Tashilumpo Monastery. Overnight in twin sharing basis at Shigatse (3955m).

Shigatse to Gyantse/ Driving Distance: 90 km
Early morning we can visit Tashilumpo Monastery and continue driving to
Gyantse. We have option of visiting Phalkhor Monastery, Khsumbula Stupa today before halting night on twin
sharing room at Gyantse (3950m).

Gyantse to Lhasa/ Driving Distace :261km
We will drive to Lhasa today. It is our dream land. Finally our dream comes
true reaching Lhasa. We will completely rest at Lhasa (3660m). Overnight at twin sharing room.

Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today after breakfast we will start our guided tour to Sera Monastery,
Drepung Monastery and Jokhang Temple. Overnight at hotel Flora or similar on twin sharing basis.

Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today we will visit Potala Palace. Former palace of Dalai Lama. We will also tour to Barkhor street
which is the oldest market centre in Lhasa. Overnight at Flora Hotel or similar on twin sharing basis.

Lhasa to Kathmandu/ Driving Distance: 65 km
Today early morning our Tibetan guide will transfer you to Gongar airport.
We will fly by Air China Boeing 757 to Kathmandu. The duration of flight is 01:15 minutes over the Himalayas.
Please don’t miss it to turn on your camera on flight.Or we will be arranging flight ticket or train tickets to
mainland China. Accordingly we will transfer you to airport or train station. Our Tibetan guide and driver will
say good bye to you before you leave Lhasa.
